Moving into a new apartment can certainly be exciting but it can also be overwhelming, especially if it’s your first apartment. Between packing your things, putting down your first deposit, and figuring out your work schedule, there are a lot of things to do. Priority storage solutions is here to offer some advice on how to move into your first apartment.
One thing a lot of people neglect to do when moving is to set up the utilities at their new place. Ideally, you should call about 2 weeks beforehand and schedule your utilities to be turned on the day of your move. That way you have immediate access to water, power, etc. as soon as you move in.
While you don’t need a whole set of power tools, it is always useful to have a toolbox with the essentials, such as a screwdriver, hammer, level, and some pliers. You might have to go around your new place tightening fixtures and you will need a good hammer if you want to hang anything on the walls.
You likely won’t be able to take everything you own to your first apartment. Consider selling or donating old things, or you could rent a temporary storage unit for storage solutions.
